[ closed ] Panama to Marquesas Panama to French Polynesia ref 12062

wants 2 crew for Auntie, Southern Ocean Gallant, 16.2m.

From Panama City, Panama to Nuka Hiva, French Polynesia.

March 2020 to April 2020.

Crossing Pacific and equator to complete my circumnavigation in Marquesas. Voyage is anticipated to be approx 3 weeks. Professional weather routers will be used, but watching our own weather is part of the voyage as we will cross ICTZ and may get some squalls. Boat can be reefed from cockpit, but gybing requires deck work. You will have your own bunk, living space is shared. Food expense, meal prep, and keeping boat tidy is shared. Special diets can add an element of difficulty to food prep. Although a chilled cocktail is a delight, there will be no alcoholic beverages while underway. It takes a bit of time just to get comfortable living onboard so that you know where light switches are, how to use shower and galley sump pump, what causes marine toilet to break, galley familiarity even just to make a cup of coffee. It’s best to have this comfort before we depart as once underway your focus wants to be on sailing the boat. Travel expenses to and from boat are yours, and for non-EU citizens a purchased airline ticket from French Polynesia to your next destination is needed prior to starting this voyage. As exact arrival date is unknown, best (although more expensive) if flight date is changeable.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): Watch-leader

Sailing with a Rally: None

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 3

Crew roles: Would like to find a couple that is looking to build blue water experience. As living space is shared, we must respect each other. I have a boat first philosophy, working on crew interaction detracts from that. Honesty about personal experience level and apprehension is important, it’s going to be known anyway so starting honestly builds trust. We are sharing living expenses, sharing a memorable experience, and hopefully sharing laughter and perspective. Non-smoking boat. No alcohol while underway. Can-do attitude, positive outlook, lively sense of humor Minimum of 3 days overnight passage experience Capable of night watches Share in cooking duties (1 Michelin star preferred!) Good story-telling skills (were going to be together for a while) No smoking, drugs, or nudity Travel at own expense Shared fuel, food, and marina expenses - 50:50 split 1/3 non-refundable deposit required upon my invitation and your acceptance commitment, balance due on departure Departure and arrival dates are only estimates. We can influence boat readiness, but we cannot influence the weather. Everything about sailing life is weather dependent, and we won’t depart in order to make an certain arrival date if the weather looks iffy.

Money: expenses shared equally $420 per person if no marinas

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
