Hugh Johnson wants 1 crew for Nikitoo, Oyster 625, 19m.

From Brisbane, Australia to Mackay, Australia.

February 2020 to January 2020.

We are a 2017 Oyster 625 who crossed from Europe in 2018 / 2019 via the ARC and WARC. We are planning to leave from Brisbane January 2nd 2020 to sail down to Sydney, hang around there for a month exploring and then around the first week of February head across to New Zealand. All being well we will set a course North around May 1st to make a landfall in Eastern Fiji. From here we will track West over 2 or 3 months towards the Whitsundays. We have an opportunity for a single person to join us for this trip or at least the first part of it. We are looking for experienced sailors only and preferably someone with a specific skill set who can assume a responsibility for a specific area of operations aboard. This could be from deck work to electronics but taking ownership of certain activities is the idea. Outside that specific activity following a normal watch system and being available to assist as required is the order of the day. We have a paid crew aboard and so this is an unpaid position, travel to and from the yacht is the crew members responsibility but while aboard food and drink is provided. The yachts complement is comprised of 2 owners and 2 crew and this leaves a bunk cabin for the newcomer and a VIP cabin for occasional guests.

Hugh is currently based in Ruse, Bulgaria

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: Independent

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 5 or 6

Crew roles: Experienced ocean sailors, male or female. Skilled in a particular area of ocean cruising while being able to take watches, helm, clean, cook a bit, do mast work, sail repair and have a good time. None smoker preferred but everyone has their vices so if you smoke you do it down wind ! We have sailed with many folks on our trip from Europe and pride ourselves in having a happy ship, looking forward to time spent together creates the most effective team so if you are an insular character you'd better try someone else! High levels of personal hygiene are vital for a happy ship, we expect a shower a day per person. Being tidy and a "put it back where I found it" discipline also makes a happy ship and has an important safety aspect to it as well. Nikitoo is a 40 ton extremely well equipped sailing vessel, she is expertly maintained by her professional crew, she is safe and seakindly. She expects those aboard her to take care of her woodwork, leather, working surfaces and teak decks and TLC makes her sail just that little bit faster!

Money: expenses shared equally $0

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
