[ closed ] North Indian Ocean Eastbound Sudan to Thailand ref 13803

Michael du Plessis wants 1 crew for Bask, Westerley Oceanmaster 48, m.

From Port Sudan, Sudan to Phuket, Thailand.

March 2023 to May 2023.

Sailing eastbound from Red Sea to Thailand. Departing end March 2023. Due to a short weather window, landfalls will be limited to as needed. The expectation is to complete the voyage not later than mid May. This opportunity is for one younger person (or perhaps a couple), with experience in sail trim and blue water sailing. All normal duties will be shared. Onboard expenses are covered by the boat and no exchange of money is required, however, travel to and from the boat, visas, and on land expenses is for the crew to cover. The boat is well equipped with modern navigation instruments, Sat weather forecasting., and Safety equipment, in addition, the boat has been steadily upgraded over the last few years and is equipped with new sails, new engine, new refrigeration, and much more. There is also a water maker and generator, and ample solar power. Crew will have own cabin and ample privacy.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: None

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 3

Crew roles: Young, energetic, and enthusiastic, and be mentally prepared for a long voyage, long watches, and at times hard work. Experienced in sail trim and sail handling, and a bit of an all rounder. Be prepared to share in galley duties, and general daily upkeep of the boat. In addition, a person with consideration of equipment and boat so as to avoid damages (an un-negligent person!) Contact me, impress me, get shortlisted, and then we can work out the details. This is a great opportunity for mile building and learning. If a crew so desire, I will happily oblige with ample coastal miles, or any other specific requests where possible.

Money: captain pays all expenses

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
