[ active ] New Zealand to Wallis Island New Zealand to Wallis and Futuna ref 15821

Joerg Esdorn wants 1 crew for Kincsem , Amel 55, m.

From Auckland, New Zealand to Mata Utu, Wallis and Futuna.

April 2026 to July 2026.

After doing the World ARC 2025 from St Lucia to Fiji and sailing independently from Fiji to New Zealand last year, team Kincsem is planning a "Pacific circle" this year from New Zealand to Australia via some of the less visited islands in the South Pacific, the Cooks, Samoa, Wallis & Fotuna, etc. While I have a full crew for most of the trip already, I am looking for one more person with good offshore experience for a cruise from Auckland to the tiny island of Wallis (just north east of Fiji). The plan is to sail non-stop from Auckland to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, then visit Palmerston, Suarrow, Samoa (or American Samoa) and end up in Wallis. In addition to myself as skipper, we already have on the team one Brit for the entire trip and up to Rarotonga, a Canadian lady. Both experienced ocean sailors who have sailed on Kincsem in the past for more than 3,000 miles. Check out the blog at https://kincsem-adventures.skipperblogs.com.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

Sailing with a Rally: Independent

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 3-4

Crew roles: The person we are looking for must be able to go watches by himself or herself, be able to cook good food (we share cooking onboard) and be a good sailor. Also should be fit and be willing and able to share in tasks on board such as provisioning, cleaning, sailing, watchkeeping (under autopilot) and some maintenance. While my preference would be one person to do the whole trip, I would be open to have a crew change in Rarotonga (around May 25-28). For the leg from Rarotonga to Wallis, I would take 2 people as well, such as a couple.

Money: daily contribution from crew $20

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
