[ Cancelled ] Milebuilding Voyage United Kingdom to Ireland ref 11081

Velvet Adventure Sailing wants 3 crew for Velvet Lady, Oyster 55, 17m.

From Plymouth, United Kingdom to Dunlaoghaire, Ireland.

May 2019 to May 2019.

Fowey, Falmouth, Kinsale, Cork, Waterford - all places we can visit on this milebuilding passage from Plymouth to Dublin. With 2 short introductory days first this is a great trip to introduce you to longer passages, watchkeeping and night sailing. This is the perfect opportunity to put recently learnt RYA theory into practice and see how to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages. On this milebuilding trip from Plymouth to Dublin you will be able to learn from us about course shaping and plotting, tides (including secondary port calculations), passage planning and passage making, how to interpret weather forecasts and real time application of collision regulations. Our milebuilding trips are all about enjoying sailing and the beauty of being at sea without the pressure of being on a course. We are not working to a syllabus but planning the tides and deciding the course based on the conditions around us. This trip is a great step up for Day Skippers and a perfect opportunity for the more experienced sailor to develop the skills required for the RYA Yachtmaster Coastal or Offshore exam. Sailing Holiday Highlights Sail past Lizard Lighthouse the most southerly point of Great Britain Visit Falmouth Participate in a watch system on the passage from Falmouth to Kinsale. Explore the Irish coastline between Kinsale and Dublin Sail around Tuscar Rock Spot the windfarms on Kinsale bank Enjoy sailing beneath a starry sky – and identifying the North Star. Experience the beauty of sunrises and sunsets at sea Enjoy a Guinness on arrival in Dublin. You will embark in Mayflower Marina, Plymouth and disembark in Dunlaoghaire Marina just west of Dublin Join in Plymouth at 1800 on Saturday 11th May and depart in Dublin at 1000 on Sunday 19th May giving you all day to travel home.
