Crew roles: Flexible dates. Great attitude and patience really what is needed. Incredibly GREAT learning opportunity if you have the great attitude. Two of my best friends came from doing this in past. Have sailed with folks with zero experience, willing to learn who were fantastic assets, and very experienced crew who were not fun. Need to like really nice German Shepherd. You get your own cabin and bathroom, and can be left alone however much you wish. Owner is in 60's, has logged decade of long trips in this kind of boat in most all circumstances and personally built or modified every boat system, which you will find is rare and essential to maximize mission success of long trips. Boat is maximized for comfort. This is the opposite of roughing it. Boat has the most solar power, best kitchen, best internet, best food and other storage, Best water making and thus nice showering etc., air conditioning or heat, every convenience to make solo long distance convenient (4 control helms for comfort), the best conceivable fishing setup to satisfy anyone who loves eating fresh fish, etc. Ideally, certainly ideal crew has taken long sailing voyages, could confidently take solo shifts on a sailing catamaran and could help in maintenance of all kinds of equipment. Ideally thought, certainly I would have long flowing hair (!). Might be good idea meet at boat now in southern Spain for a couple days to get to know person ahead of trip, perhaps a day or two of swabbing or anything similarly miserable to see how they can handle themselves.
