[ active ] Marquesas to Bora Bora – World ARC 2025-26 French Polynesia to French Polynesia ref 15261
Joerg Esdorn wants 1 crew for Kincsem , Amel 55, m.
From Hiva Oa, French Polynesia to Bora Bora, French Polynesia.
to November 2025.
I am looking for a fourth person to join the Kincsem team for this leg. The plan is to be cruising first the Marquesas Islands, then visit 4 of the Tuamotus, then sail to Moorea and Bora Bora. This is a free sailing leg of the WARC so there will be no racing. We will undoubtedly meet other WARC boats on the leg but boats are likely to spread out. Kincsem is an Amel 55 from 2016 and I have owned the boat since new. The boat is very well equipped and maintained and by the time we get to the Marquesas, I will have sailed her well close to 35,000 nautical miles. She has all new upwind sails, 3 downwind sails, Starlink, full Furuno and B&G electronics and a forward looking sonar. I am a racing sailor by heart and like to sail the boat actively. Everyone is expected to work on the boat and keep everything in good order and shipshape. Having said that, I like to have fun and this leg of the WARC certainly presents a lot of opportunity for fun! I will ask for a daily contribution of $20 per person. In addition, all crew (including me) will share equally the expenses of alcohol consumed. However, there will be no alcohol at sea other than one small beer for happy hour.
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader
Sailing with a Rally: Independent
I'm looking for (gender): female
Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk
Smoking on board: smoking allowed
Total people on board: 4
Crew roles: We are three married men, all very experienced and competent offshore sailors with many tens of thousands of nautical miles of offshore experience. We are sharing all duties on board equally, including cleaning, cooking etc. Ideally, I am looking for a woman who would be quite experienced and be interested in "running" the galley and provisions on the boat. We will continue to share cooking and cleaning duties among all of us but I find it important to have one person in charge of the galley and provisions. I am looking for someone who is self motivated, a good sailor, a good cook, willing to pitch in at all times and has a good sense of humor.
Money: daily contribution from crew $0
Travel to and from boat: crew pays
