[ Cancelled ] Looking for good sailor with mechanical/technical knowledge capabilities for adventorous person (s) to sail the world. France to Saint Lucia ref 6202

Jan Telander wants 1 crew for Sonoma Two, Neel 51, 16m.

From La Rochelle, France to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

August 2018 to April 2021.

I have sailed most of my life, with my last boat being a Beneteau 57, which I sailed across the Atlantic in ARC 2007. The time is now coming around for me to retire and got sailing more permanently. I have ordered a new boat, a Need 51 trimaran. The yacht is being commissioned in La Rochelle in Aug/Sept 2018. After fitting out, trial sails etc., it will be time to head south fo the Canaries in time for the ARC. No doubt more fitting out and adding stuff in Gran Canaria. After the crossing the plan is to spend the winter sailing throughout the Caribbean, then back East again cross the Atlantic in early May in the ARC Europe via Bermuda to the Azores it will then either be heading North to participate in ARC Baltic, staring early July or alternatively continue East and sail the Med. In the fall back to the Canaries for the ARC+ via Cape Verde. By this time I think we have gotten to know the boat well enough for the the 2020 World ARC from St Lucia. After that, who knows what adventure will come next.

Jan is currently based in Ensenada, Mexico

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

Sailing with a Rally: ARC – Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 6

Crew roles: As I am not getting any younger, comfort, ease of sail, is the main reason for chosing a Neel 51, being a fast and fun boat to sail, while offering a stable platform for comfort. This is also the same reason why I am looking for (preferably)a permanant competent crew (one, but could have a partner) to manage the day to day maintenance of the yacht, as well as share the adventure of distant cruising. Seeking good responsible sailor(s), capable of taking watches, good sailing skills as wellas good knowledge of mechanical and engine maintenance etc., cooking skills an advantage as well. Most important is though to be fun easy going with good presentation, great for all situations, stress free, all round good individual (s) to have onboard, as permanent living onboard crew. I am not looking for a crew to wait on me or my guest hand and foot, but instead seen as part of an extended family crew with some extra responsibilities and duties, i..e. to maintain the yacht in good shape as far as maintenance and cleaning is concerned. Before the world ARC I am likely to be coming and going as I wrap up my businesses etc., and you will the be staying onboard wherever the yacht might be located at the time. I am likely to have friends or family onboard frequently, but don't intend to do any charter. If you think this is something that would suit you and that you could fit in to that role, please let me hear from you. The crew position, will be based on all expenses paid and some monthly amount as spending money,

Money: captain pays all expenses

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
