Velvet Adventure Sailing wants 1 crew for Velvet Lady, Oyster 55, 17m.

From Kristiansund, Norway to Plymouth, United Kingdom.

August 2016 to September 2016.

1 place has just become available on this milebuilding passage due to a cancellation. Join us for some ocean sailing and watchkeeping across the Norwegian sea, past the Shetland Islands, around the infamous Cape Wrath, south through the Hebrides and on through the Irish Sea to Plymouth. This passage is ideal for milebuilding, experiencing more challenging sailing and gaining experience towards your Yachtmaster certificate. There are plenty of opportunities to practice navigation and work out tides.

Crew roles: We start our trip from Kristiansund on the west coast of Norway. After an initial day sail in the sheltered waters of the surrounding Fjords and a night at anchor, we set off for a 450 mile passage across the Norwegian sea towards Cape Wrath. Once around Cape Wrath we look at our progress and if possible make a stop in the Hebrides. Working with the tide we continue our passage southwards towards the Mull of Kintyre and into the Irish Sea, leaving the Isle of Man to port and continuing south towards Ireland. Weather permitting we may have a quick stop in Dublin Bay to sample the Guinness before we continue south around Lands End and into the English Channel. After sailing past Lizard Point, the most southerly point of England we head for our destination Plymouth.

Money: voyage cost $1395
