Fulvio Croce wants 1 crew for Magdalena, Fountain Pajot Belize 43, m.

From Palermo, Italy to Astipalea and back, Greece.

May 2023 to October 2023.

Hi! I’m looking for young guys with some sailing knowledge and good will interested in exchanging the navigation experience as my second on my catamaran, with the help and work needed to keep the boat clean and running. This is an aupair position at no pay no cost for 2-3 weeks terms along my summer route detailed on my website. Mine is NOT a commercial operation, but a sharing cruise all around, as pI accept guests for a limited contribution (700/900€/pp/wk + sharing costs) according to the sailing program. In 2022 we had a great time sailing 5 month around SICILY minor islands, the Peloponnese, and many EGEAN and IONIAN ISLANDS. We've always been in good company of family, friends and guests, all contributing to general costs to a various degree. I’m a retired professional environmental engineer, skipper since my young age. In 2012/18 I’ve been sailing my Sun Fast 43 from Sicily to French Polynesia, then I sold it there and purchased here a comfortable catamaran. From end of May to mid October '23 I'll sail again in South Tyrrenian sea, then to Ithaca mid June, on to the Egean sea in July and August, back to Ionian Islands through Corinth Canal in September then to Sicily, Aeolians islands in October. Call for details and applications. References on request.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

Sailing with a Rally: Independent

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 8

Crew roles: The payment details reported below don’t apply to the sailors aupair I’m looking for, but only to the guests. Last season I had eight guys to help me from 7 different Countries. The young sailors I’m looking for will have their individual berth in the front of the boat and individual WC on the other side. Shower is outside or in my toilet. Food on board is provided, wine and occasional restaurants are on you. Following is a memo of your duties: Be interested in the boat safety equipments and help me instructing the guests to this regard, as well as on where all the provisions and other things are stowed and help showing those places to the others. Be interested in the navigation equipment and knowledgeable about the boat's route and sailing conditions and weather forecast. Share these informations with the others when asked. Contribute to maintain common spaces in order: everything has a specific place! First thing in the morning, before and after any sailing passage and last in the evening check around if everything is stowed properly. Never leave the boat when on a mooring without having prior checked the boat in and out if there is anything to be stowed, cleaned or tuned. Same after a mooring manouvring or anchorage: we are done only after a good look around if there is anything to be adjusted or put in proper place. Be interested and help me in the boat and engines little maintenance, and to keep track of related schedules and checks. Help me in mooring and maneuvering and sailing the boat, sometime together with the guests. Help me coordinate the group, regarding maneuvering and navigation, and instructing them about cleaning individual cabins, toilets and use of WC. Daily cleaning: in the morning before the guests get out of their cabins drying the deck from dew when needed, sweep the common spaces and the kitchen, beat the carpets outside (about 1/2 hour). Then washing dishes daily, assist and help cooking (cooking will mostly be on me) help setting and clearing the table, cooperate in serving. Cleaning saloon glasses and door inside and out if needed. Weekly cleaning: deep cleaning and covid disinfection of the whole boat inside and out at the change of the crew (about 2-3 hours) Bring just your personal stuff, only one pair of long pants or light jeans, one pullover, one light jacket or kway, and one pair of boat shoes are usually more than enough in case of bad weather. I never use boots. Then shorts, t-shirt, flip flop, tekking sandals and shoes. One medium size towel. Consider that we send bed sheets (provided) and stuff to the laundry every week or two max. We charge phones on 5V plugs. No 220V onboard except for special cases.

Money: daily contribution from crew $800

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
