From Preveza, Greece to Messina, Italy.

April 2024 to May 2024.

I'll be launching my boat Coconut, a 1991 Hallberg Rassy 36, on April 23rd after a few preparations in the yard. She's well outfitted for exploring the islands (and tavernas) in Greece and Italy and comes with all the comfort and class you would expect from this Swedish gem. I hope to sail up to Corfu, across to Puglia, then down the coast to Sicily where some of my good friends from California will be joining the boat. The stops will be loosely planned depending on the weather and the look of the town. If the energy is right there will be space on the boat to continue cruising the Tyrrhenian Sea and beyond! I'm a 40-something beer maker and engineer from San Francisco who's been sailing for years with a few thousand miles of experience under my belt both coastal and ocean and I also have my RYA Yachtmaster Offshore ticket.

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 2-3

Crew roles: As I mentioned, little to no experience is required: just a fun attitude and a sense of adventure (knowing how to tie a bowline, a cleat hitch and a clove hitch really does help). I'm pretty comfortable on my sturdy Coconut and I have solo sailed her before, but a few helping hands would be nice for the longer passages. That said, I'd also love to host some experienced sailors who could certainly teach me a thing or two!
