Kris Boon wants 2 crew for Valiant M, Vagabond 42, 13m.

From Queensway Quay, Gibraltar to Palma, Canary Islands.

July 2013 to October 2013.

First leg of an extended voyage to San Diego. Looking for fun competent and adventurous types where compatibilty and considerate behaviour is more important than sailing skills..which can be taught en route. Fishermen and Scuba divers are very welcome. Opportunity exists for transit: Cape Verde, Carrib etc. We sail and cruise to the conditions and weather, not a schedule so flexible dates are required...I am taking time out as a sabbatical from work so would imagine some professional doing the same would be ideal. Come and share the adventure on Valiant M ;-) Please note if I don't find suitable crew for Ocean passage then will head into the Med for summer - so if you see two 'opportunities' then you know why!

Crew roles: I would never ask someone to do anything that I would not... I find it useful that crew are proactive and interested, (not surly, lazy or uncaring...or dare I say selfish...) in that regard all tasks are shared (cooking, cleaning, maintenance etc) and you will be expected to learn about skills you might not yet have...its part of the fun of the adventure! ;-) I would expect you to cover your own costs and this is principally to determine commitment - anyone can come for a free lunch - many past crew I have covered all costs for ended up being freeloaders who quit when going got tough/rough - Ocean sailing can have its rough days!
