wants 4 crew for Penniless, Beneteau 473, m.

From Marina Marin, Martinique to Balboa Yacht Club Panama, Panama.

January 2023 to January 2024.

Hello and welcome aboard Penniless - An adventure sailing and diving yacht! We're seeking crew to sail from Martinique in the Caribbean to Panama and through the Panama Canal in February and March 2023. The captain and co-captain are me (Filip, 65 y/o) and my daughter (Sofie, 27 y/o). We are both experienced sailors and SCUBA divers. Sofie's a PADI Divemaster, soon to be biologist and knows lots of marin animal fun facts. As passionate divers, be sure that we'll be crabbing great diving opportunities that you can join on our way to Panama. We have all the needed dive equipment on board to dive in the water right then and there. Even if you just want to snorkel or maybe go SUP boarding, we've got you covered. The itinerary is as follows: On the 6.Feb. the crew arrives and take off from port on 8.Feb. Then sailing to Panama with visits to good diving islands on top of Venezuela on the way. Arriving at Panama around 28.Feb and then waiting to pass through the Panama Canal. On the 15th of March the crew leaves the boat. (The dates are loose except "Crew Arrival", and smaller changes may occur.) It's going to be fun and amazing and we can't wait! Best regards from Sofie and Filip. PS. The next leg of the trip is Panama to Galapagos: If you are interested in continuing onto the next leg of the trip, we need to know at the same time as the booking of this opportunity due to the Galapagos permit application process.

Crew roles: Have you never sailed before or are you highly experienced? Well you're in luck no matter what! We take on anyone as long as you're outgoing, curious and open-minded and ready for adventure. Of course you have to participate in normal day to day chores on the boat - like cooking and cleaning. Keep in mind that 2-4 days might be dedicated to maintenance since the boat is on a long journey from Europe to Australia, and all crew is expected to help throughout their part of this journey. Cool opportunities for crew: - For non-sailors, you'll be learning to sail by doing with the help from us and perhaps other experienced crew members. - For divers, all you need is to be a certified Open Water diver with proof of this and insurance covering SCUBA diving. - For snorklers who want to be better at free diving, Sofie has tips and tricks she'll happily share with you. - For all crew members, you'll learn safety and accident procedures and CPR (always great to know how to save a life, right?). Does this sound like something you're ready for, then we're ready to hear from you!

Money: daily contribution from crew $49
