[ closed ] Experienced Captain Wanted Spain to United States ref 13762
From Barcelona , Spain to Worldwide, United States.
September 2022 to December 2025.
72' Cooper Marine motorsailer presently in Sitges Spain seeks a full-time Captain for Trans Atlantic passage in late November and possible circumnavigation. This would be an immediate hire as the vessel is scheduled to go into a boatyard in Spain for an Awlgrip paint job prior to the Atlantic crossing.. The vessel will spend a year in the Caribbean, based in St Lucia with a visit to Florida. The owner's plan is to continue on to the South Pacific and possible circumnavigation. The vessel is a twin screw motorsailer build in the late 80's in Canada and has been totally refit in 2018-2021. Finishing the new Awlgrip paint, she will be a fully restored classic with all modern conveniences. This is a private yacht with two people in the owner's party. There are no current plans to charter the vessel. The owners are very down to earth type people and they treat the crew as family. The vessel will cruise at 9 kts. under power and 10 to 12 kts, under sail. The twin screws, bow thruster and in mast furling make her an easily handled yacht. I am Captain Mike Redden, a past captain of the yacht & the owners have asked me to help in finding a qualified captain with the proper credentials and experience. My age and health concerns preclude me from taking on the position..
