[ Archived ] Dream Catching…………… Australia to South Africa ref 2402

martin rutt wants 3 crew for DreamCatcher, Jeanneau SO 49DS, 14.75m.

From Brisbane/Sydney, Australia to Jo'burg/Cape Town, South Africa.

January 2017 to December 2017.

Having completed the 2014 ARC+, and crossed the South Pacific in 2016, we are looking to progress our circumnavigation - Westwards to South Africa as the next goal. Crossing the Indian Ocean will follow after the end of cyclone season ie May 2017, but we will be cruising the East coast south from Brisbane in early 2017 before turning north to cruise the Barrier Reef etc. The boat is fitted-out for ocean passage making, with some important improvements made in Grenada to further enhance her downwind capability and her reliability and our self reliance eg a Powerdive 12v 'hookah' dive system for hull maintenance and fun to 12m. Whilst in Brisbane, the standing rigging and steering cables are being replaced, and the engine professionally serviced. The sails get an overhaul and new furling staysail is likely to be installed. Emphasising compatibility, we are looking for min 2, max 4, tolerant and sunny companions to join us for what could be a shakedown cruise for the Indian Ocean. If you have a cheerful 'can-do' attitude, are fit enough, eat a 'normal' diet, are interested and interesting, young at heart, solvent, and happiest when working in and for the team; maybe DreamCatcher can work her magic for you!
