Crossing the Med sounds idyllic, but have you thought about sailing this route on a high-performance ocean racing yacht? Well, now you can. Experience the thrill of sailing on a Volvo Open 70 so you can hone your skills and build your miles. This trip is for everyone, whether you are a novice or experienced sailor. Cover more than 1,000nms as we sail Volvo Open 70 “Kraken” across the Med from Gibraltar to Malta Over 10 days, you will have the opportunity to helm, trim, practice evolutions, passage plan, weather route and if you are a budding yacht master you can have the opportunity to skipper a 60-mile passage under the watchful eye of a Yachtmaster instructor. En route there are many stop-over opportunities including Northern Africa, and Western Europe. Includes - A place on the crew - Professional Race Skipper and four additional professional crew - Food, fuel and mooring fees - Wet weather gear Does not include - Food ashore - Travel to and from the boat £1,400pp

Crew roles: Don’t think this will be a luxury ride! Such a high-performance racing yacht does not come with many creature comforts. Cramped quarters, freeze dried food and basic accommodation are the trade-off for a fast boat, many miles, stunning scenery and the most exhilarating ride. We do it just as the elite ocean racers do so you truly get a genuine experience.
