[ active ] Crew opportunity: Atlantic crossings E>W & possible W>E return Spain to Saint Lucia ref 16101
From La Linea, Spain to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.
December 2026 to January 2027.
Crew member needed for Atlantic crossing E-W (opportunity 1) and possible return W>E in April/May/June (opportunity 2). Opportunity 1: I am looking for one or two crew members for our Atlantic crossing this December. Sadly an existing crew member has pulled out due to injury. The passage will be broken up as: Stage 1: La Linea to Gran Canaria (depart 1 December onwards) Stage 2: Gran Canaria to St Lucia (depart 15 December onwards) Arrival expected no later than 15 January. I have lived onboard for three years with my young family, sailing across the Mediterranean and parts of the Atlantic. My family will meet me in the Caribbean and we will continue our sailing journey there. For the crossing, we are currently a crew of two friends, male, aged 40-50. We will sail on Beneteau 473 Oceanis Clipper kitted out for a crossing of this type. On costs, you would need to pay for your own travel. Costs for journey to be split equally by crew (food, fuel, marina charges etc) Solid sailing experience needed. Must be comfortable taking a night watch and competent with the basics of handling sails. I am specifically interested in people with medical experience, as that is something we don’t have with the existing crew set up. Opportunity 2: Atlantic crossing W>E I plan to bring the boat back to Europe in the Spring, departing the BVIs in April. Stage 1: BVI to Bermuda Stage 2: Bermuda to Azores Stage 3: Azores to mainland Spain The schedule is less defined at the stage. The journey would take during April, May and June. Would love to hear from anyone who might be interested. Look forward to hearing back.
