Montevideo to Puerto Montt via Cape Horn – December to January Join an unforgettable offshore adventure from Montevideo to Puerto Montt, with the ultimate goal of rounding the legendary Cape Horn. We plan to depart from Montevideo in December and sail south to Ushuaia. Depending on weather and crew preferences, stops along the Argentine coast are possible. As with any high-latitude voyage, the exact route and schedule will remain flexible, with weather and sea conditions determining our progress. If conditions allow, we will round Cape Horn before continuing west through the spectacular Beagle Channel. From there, we will wait for suitable weather windows to make our way north to Puerto Montt, where we expect to arrive by the end of January. The voyage continues in February toward Easter Island, so crew interested in a longer expedition are welcome to discuss joining for the next leg as well. The yacht has now completed more than 10,000 nautical miles, and I am fully confident that she is thoroughly prepared and equipped for this demanding passage.

Crew roles: I am looking for two experienced crew members to join me. Over time, I have found that a crew of three people is the ideal size for this 45-foot yacht, providing a good balance between comfort, safety, and manageable watch rotations. The forward cabin is dedicated to the crew and offers comfortable accommodation for two people.
