[ Archived ] Caribbean to Europe May & June 2013 Virgin Islands - British to Spain ref 1446

Robert Burch wants 3 crew for Rafiki, Beneteau Oceanis 473, 14m.

From Nanny Cay, Virgin Islands - British to Probably La Coruna, Spain.

May 2013 to June 2013.

I am sailing back to Europe, probably with ARC Europe, via Bermuda and the Azores. We will most likely aim to arrive in Northern Spain, rather than Faro, as we are then sailing back to the UK. We sailed to the Caribbean and have been cruising here as a family, but my kids have decided to fly home with my wife as, although they enjoyed the Atlantic Crossing to get here, they feel that once is enough and they would like to catch-up with friends in the UK for a while! They'll join the boat again in Northern Spain for the sail back to the UK. We cannot afford to pay for a crew, and so ask for a daily contribution to cover all costs whilst on the boat, plus crew need to pay for travel to and from the boat. I am looking for a crew with experience where possible, but am happy to have newer sailors as well. You can see our blog to get a better idea of how we sail, overall we aim to be safe, have fun and sail fast. In terms of crew, I would like those who are prepared to fit in with others, take their share of work on the boat while sailing and who want to enjoy the fantastic experience of crossing an ocean!

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 3): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: ARC Europe

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : shared cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 4

Crew roles: Ideally I like crew to share all tasks on the boat while sailing, so that we all have a fair share of the good and not so fun work. I am very happy to share navigation and weather information with the crew and like to take decisions together rather than imposing them. There should not be much maintenance to do, but help with the few jobs and overall boat preparation is always appreciated.

Money: daily contribution from crew

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
