[ Cancelled ] BVI>Golfito, Costa Rica Virgin Islands - British to Costa Rica ref 8331

torsten griem wants 2 crew for pytheas, Shannon HPS 38, 12m.

From Nanny Cay Marina, Tortola, Virgin Islands - British to Golfito, Costa Rica.

November 2018 to December 2018.

Total crew identified as six is the maximum objective. It will vary over the trip and usually should be less. I favor easy watch schedules so don't mind recruiting fun bigger crews, ie., erring a bit on the cozy/communal/hot bunk side. The first leg .... BVI>Cartagena, CO>San Blas Islands>Colon, Panama... I am currently on my own so very motivated to recruit fun experienced easy going volunteer crew, maybe even a couple. Then the plan is to pickup my family in/around Panama before transiting Panama Canal, my wife's fixation:-). Be great if you have experience doing this or any of this trip. Its the first time for me. I have substantial 20 year experience owning boats and sailing my PNW coastal waters. By the time I reach this Caribbean leg I will have sailed down the east coast over the summer from RI with a number of instructors/experience crew training me up so I hope to call myself a very experienced skipper by the time I reach BVI in November participating with ARC Carib1500, another one of my training opportunities for 2017/2018. My wife and two teenage boys will join us in Panama. You as experience volunteer crew get the private pullman cabin, except if/when my boy's girlfriend drops in on our trip for a few days to a week, which is very unlikely. During that unlikely event you would sleep in either the upper or lower starboard berths in the common galley area. If you are an experienced couple we might consider reserving the pullman cabin for you. That will be a nice situation to be in having to weight gaining couple's experience vs maximizing chances getting our 18yo into offshore sailing:-). Regarding expenses I am planning on paying all boat-specific expenses, fuel, moorage, boat permit, breakage, etc. Crew+I share provisioning expenses involving food and drink. My current schedule... second half Nov Sailing BVI to Panama: Crew- tbd JC AN81 pp 99 ~1,000nm Sail BVI>Cartagena, CO>San Blas Islands>Colon, Panama -------------------------------------------------- December- Transiting Panama Canal>Golfito, Costa Rica ~2 weeks, ~300nm Crew-family + CapT Mickey & Leif meet us at canal entrance for their x2 week vacation starting 12/9 flying in/out Costa Rica or Panama. Pickup Kai mid-Dec. Visit Cartenaga, CO and Panama islands before & after note-Golfito is bit of make or break. I have an opportunity to have Pytheas shipped up to Victoria, BC through a number of shippers. I really don’t want to go there though…...
