We are seeking an experienced crew member to assist in sailing from Beaufort NC to Tortola BVI, departing on or about March 14 (estimate 10 to 12 day passage). Three crew positions are already committed. We are looking for one more crew member. The boat (1988 Pacific Seacraft 37) is equipped with radar (at nav. desk), VHF (in cabin and at helm), WatchMate AIS transponder and chartplotter at helm, autopilot, Monitor windvane, solar panels, wind generator, fuel polisher, Winslow 6 person life raft (2014), SSB with Pactor modem; cutter rigged with new genoa (2014), storm sail, trysail (both new 2013) asymmetrical spinnaker, emergency steering drogue (GaleRider 30), Jordan series drogue, new dodger and bimini (2014), new standing rigging (2011); lee cloths, jacklines, dedicated preventer, reefing lines led to cockpit. Tankage is limited (80 gallons of water, approx. 40 gallons fuel) with extra carboys of each.

Crew roles: In addition to experience with offshore sailing in good weather and bad, the crew member would be experienced with this type of passage-making and be mentally and physically healthy, good-humored, safe, outgoing and work well as a team. Ideally, the crew member would bring a particular skill (for example, mechanical expertise, electronics and communication skill, cooking, navigation, weather prediction, sail trim or other) that would contribute to a safe, fast, and fun voyage. We observe a number of sailing rules (e.g. life jacket and harness/tether at night when on deck regardless of weather). Illicit drug use (or possession) or weapons are not permitted on the boat. Smoking is not permitted inside the boat. Looking to make this a safe, fun, and fast passage. Let me know if you are interested !
