orta, Azores to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria via Madeira – 29th October – 12th November 2019 (950nm): Join from 16:00 on the 29th October Leaving from Horta on the Island of Faial we will head for Ponta Delgado, the most easterly island of the Azores archipelago. This 100 mile passage will take less than 24 hours, so is a good introduction to Ocean sailing. Having taken some time to explore the island we will then sail to Santa Maria to the South before setting sail on the longest passage to Madeira (470 miles). There will be time here to enjoy the island before a final 2 day passage to finish the trip in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. £1,500 per person. These passages will cover all aspects of ocean sailing. You will be involved in every aspect of life at sea, from watch keeping, helming, sail handling and trimming and you can be as involved as you wish in the navigation, weather routing and Astro navigation. These passages can be used as qualifiers for the Ocean Yacht Master qualification.
