[ active ] Atlantic Rally for Cruisers ARC 2026 United Kingdom to Saint Lucia ref 15935

SY Peter von Seestermuehe wants 4 crew for Peter von Seestermühe, Henry Gruber Yawl built in 1936, m.

From Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, United Kingdom to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

November 2026 to December 2026.

Sailing the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) with us means crossing the Atlantic aboard SY Peter von Seestermühe, a classic, owner-operated offshore sailing yacht built in 1936 with exceptional Atlantic experience. She is widely regarded as Germany’s most traveled ocean-going yacht and will take part in the ARC for the 15th time this year. A berth on board offers the opportunity to actively sail an Atlantic crossing, becoming part of the crew and taking part in a passage conducted in accordance with the principles of good seamanship. Sailors with a range of experience levels are welcome; what matters is an interest in offshore sailing and a willingness to be fully involved. Life on board is defined by active participation. Sail handling, trimming, navigation and watchkeeping are part of everyday life, as is taking part in the galley watch. Everyone on board is integrated into the crew and experiences the steady rhythm of a two- to three-week ocean passage, sailing from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Rodney Bay, St. Lucia. One of the great appeals of this Atlantic crossing is sailing with the predominantly reliable trade winds, conditions long associated with the ARC and widely known as the Barefoot Route. You sail on a proven yacht with a skipper who has completed more than thirty Atlantic crossings. Experience, established routines and a friendly onboard atmosphere shape this ARC passage. A berth on board is more than simply a place on the yacht — it is an opportunity to take an active part in a transatlantic sailing passage that only a few yachts can offer in this form. This is transatlantic sailing for those who want to sail — not be sailed. The cost per crew member is €5.200 plus regatta fee and expenses (food, diesel, gas and harbor dues (if any)). The crew covers the expenses for skipper and first mate.
