[ closed ] Atlantic Crossing November 2020 Canary Islands to Barbados ref 12557

wants 1 crew for Ava, Jeanneau 42ds, m.

From Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands to Port St Charles, Barbados.

to November 2020.

We are currently preparing to cross the Atlantic and looking for 1 additional crew member to take part in the passage. We are a British couple in our mid 30s who have sailed Ava (our Jeanneau 42ds) from the UK to France, across Biscay, Spain, Portugal and next to the Canary's via Madeira with just the two of us, but would like some more hands for the Atlantic crossing (some sleep would be nice!) Some sailing experience is required as you will need to manage the boat on your watch, but you do not need any formal qualifications. All persons will be considered. All on board will establish a rota to take watches (day and night) and share in the day to day cooking, cleaning, etc. We are cruisers, not racers and looking for a relaxed crossing. A sat phone will be carried for weather forecasts, tracking and communications. We also intended on employing a land based professional weather router who has been highly recommended. The crew cabin available is a 'V' berth with own head which will be shared by you and one other crewman who's already signed on. We are asking for a crew contribution of £1400 for the trip. This is to cover onboard food costs, fuel, marinas, coms, services, etc. Eating and drinking on land will be at your own expense. Travel to and from the boat will be the crews responsibility, as are any visa's, personal insurance etc you may require. Any health conditions, no matter how minor will need to be disclosed. This is essential for the safety of all persons on board. Joining the boat will be in Las Palmas, mid November. Expected departure around the 20th of November.
