[ Cancelled ] ARC Transatlantic Race November 2019 Canary Islands to Saint Lucia ref 11378

From Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.
November 2019 to December 2019.
Realise your dream - this November sail across the Atlantic to the Caribbean! The biggest ocean sailing event in the world sees more than 200 yachts sail from Las Palmas in Gran Canaria across the Atlantic to St Lucia in the Caribbean. The atmosphere before the race start in Las Palmas is something to experience, with so many yacht crews provisioning and preparing for their "bucket list" transatlantic crossing. ARC training seminars and their great pre-race parties mean you get to meet other ARC crews from all over the world. We will compete in the Racing Division, and anticipate the 2700 mile Atlantic Ocean crossing to take us around 16-18 days. Landfall in Rodney Bay in St Lucia will be such an amazing experience having completed our Atlantic crossing, with a warm welcome from the ARC team with rum and cold beer on the dock! The Dates Arrive Las Palmas 20th November 2019 Training Day 21st November 2019 Race Start 24th November 2019 Race Finish 10th to 12th December 2019 The Plan Plan to arrive in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria in the Canaries for 2oth November allowing a couple of days to get our last minute boat prep and crew training sorted. The ARC organise a series of seminars and social events in the run up to the start which are ideal to get to know the other yachts racing in our class. The race across the Atlantic to Rodney Bay in St Lucia will start on 24th November. The expected North East Winds mean we can expect the crossing to take around 16 days - but please remember that there are no guarantees on timing! As we cross the Atlantic the temperature will keep rising, so when you arrive in the Caribbean you will be perfectly acclimatised to the warm tropical weather... INCLUDED ARC race entry fee Race Skipper Training Branded Race Shirt All food and provisions whilst on passage All fuel, gas, berthing and safety equipment Accommodation on board from 21st November - till we reach St Lucia! Why sail with First Offshore Racing? We exist to enable keen weekend sailors to get offshore by running training weekends and competing in Offshore Races. The ARC is the longest race we compete in, and it's on the bucket list of many a sailor. If you are wondering if this is for you, give us a call on 07961 746645 and we can talk it all through. You will be completely involved in the running of the boat - if nav and tactics are your thing, we will work together – if it’s sail trim or helming, we will show you have to get the best out of our fully optimised race boat. We build a tightly knit team through the event. Our aim? To sail really well, and to have massive fun whilst we do. All we ask is a reasonable level of fitness and some offshore experience – we will guide you all the way. For the more experienced, we focus on race strategy, weather routing and fine tuning our boat trim.
