[ closed ] ARC January Canary Islands to Saint Lucia ref 12748

Ludwig Hoogstoel wants 2 crew for Ataraxia, 2006 Etap 46ds, m.

From Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

March 2022 to .

SV Ataraxia is joining ARC January (start January 2022). Ataraxia is a 2006 Etap 46DS currently in Torrevieja Spain where she is undergoing a refit to make her world circumnavigation ready. This boat is new to me but this will be my second Transat (the first one on an Etap 37s). We want to arrive in the Canary Islands before the end of October from Spain/Portimao Portugal and will need help at least for the ocean trip from Portimao to Canary Islands. Due to the layout of the boat (very much 'owner oriented') we are looking for an experienced crew (ocean crossing experience preferred) as well as a 'duo' (father/son or couple) to complement the roster.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): Watch-leader

Sailing with a Rally: Independent

I'm looking for (gender): male

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 3 or 4

Crew roles: We are a quiet couple with dual citizenship Belgium/USA who live in NJ. Positive attitude, flexibility, availability and good chemistry are more important than certifications. One crew member needs to have done an ocean passage already. For the other position we have a preference for a 'duo' (can be father and son or a couple or anybody willing to share the forward state room). This second (and third) position does not require ocean experience. To check out the type of boat, you can look at this sistership : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKr8VRhBpwk. My wife will not join on the Transat, so we will have a total of 3 or 4 crew on the boat. Keywords that we feel are important are respectful, calm, no yelling. Expect a 'dry' ocean passage (and be pleasantly surprised if conditions warrant the opposite). An 'uneventful' trip is a good one in our book. We look forward to a positive experience.

Money: captain pays all expenses

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
