[ active ] ARC Europe Saint Martin to Portugal ref 15783
Michael Smith wants 2 crew for Ability, 2018 Nautitech 46 Fly, m.
From Simpsons Bay, Saint Martin to Lagos, Portugal.
May 2026 to June 2026.
Crew with us for ARC Europe departing St Maarten on May 9th and ending in Lagos in late June. Looking for one to 2 people, perhaps a couple. Must have blue water ocean crossing experience on a sailboat of 40' or more, undertaking watches, trimming sails, daily maintenance activities. Our boat is a 2018 Nautitech 46 Fly catamaran which is a very comfortable and capable boat for an ocean crossing. Crew have their own private cabin with head & shower. We anticipate that at the stopover points (Bermuda and Azores) crew may prefer to go ashore and stay, to take a break off the boat.
Michael is currently based in New York, United States
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader
What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): Watch-leader
Sailing with a Rally: ARC Europe
I'm looking for (gender): either
Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk
Smoking on board: non-smokers only
Total people on board: 4
Crew roles: I am seeking 1 to 2 crew members who can supplement my limited experience with ocean crossings. This opportunity might suit a couple, perhaps younger than us to help out with those heavier duty tasks that might be needed. Plus with 4 people on the boat it will make watches more practical! ARC Europe will be our first ocean crossing (hence we are doing this with ARC Europe!). I will captain the boat but always seek input from those more experienced that me. Must be experienced with at least one ocean crossing, hoisting/trimming sails, heavy weather sailing experience, level headed and remaining calm under pressure.
Money: captain pays all expenses
Travel to and from boat: crew pays
