[ Cancelled ] Sint Marteen to Portugal with ARC Europe 2025 Rally Saint Martin to Portugal ref 15430

wants 1 crew for Sophistikate, Oyster 575, m.

From Simpson Bay Marina, Saint Martin to Lagos, Portugal.

May 2025 to June 2025.

ARC Europe 2025 Rally Sint Marteen to Lagos Portugal via Bermuda and the Azores 8th May – 21st June 2025 The ARC Europe is a great way to make the eastward transatlantic passage. Routing via Bermuda and the Azores and then onto Lagos, Portugal, this makes for shorter hops and gets the maximum advantage from the trade winds. Being part of the event means friendly competition, parties and organised tours as well as meeting other like-minded people. We will leave St Maarten on the 10th May with a group of around 25 other yachts, heading for Bermuda. This 860nm passage should take around 5 days, leaving around a week to explore Bermuda. From here it is an 1800nm passage to Horta in the Azores, which should take around 10 days. Sailing westbound across the Atlantic is known to be more of a challenge than sailing to the Caribbean, so this is a real adventure with the possibility of a whole mix of weather conditions and a real bucket list item for the more adventurous sailor. Once we make landfall in Horta, there will be a few days to explore and recuperate. Crew roles: All previous crews have enjoyed sailing onboard Sophistikate, both for her pedigree and also the easy going but professional Captain and First mate husband/wife sailing team. This is NOT a paid-for position but a chance at an incredible sailing experience. We will cover all marina fees, fuel and the cost of the ARC Rally. The daily $20 covers your food per day. We are inviting you to share a bucket list experience and in return you will pay us back with a little extra sleep whilst you are on watch!
