[ closed ] ARC Baltic Rally Germany to Denmark ref 12634

Dan Bower wants 8 crew for Skyelark 2, Oyster 62, m.

From Rostock, Germany to Copenhagen, Denmark.

July 2022 to August 2022.

Organised by World Cruising Club, this is a chance to explore the many different cultures of the Baltic with a group of around 20 yachts. Sailing legs are relatively short, not normally more than 1 or 2 days on a passage, giving plenty of time to explore all the history and culture that the Baltic offers, as well as opportunities to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Swedish and Finnish archipelagos. Book on for either Leg 1 from Germany to Russia, or Leg 2, Russia to Sweden, or join us for the whole 6 week adventure! Leg 1: 4th – 23rd July 2022 (900nm) Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia & Russia The rally begins in the Yachthafen in Rostock, Germany setting sail on the 6th July to Rønne in Denmark where we can explore the town and nearby fishing villages of Bornholm. From there it's 200 miles on to Visby in Gotland. Known as the city of roses and ruins, this is a world heritage site and arguably the best preserved medieval town in Scandanavia. Sailing onwards, there will be a stop at the Swedish island of Gotska Sandön, before heading to Tallinn, which is the capital of Estonia. This medieval walled town is also a world heritage site with an impressive cathedral, numerous churches and pretty back streets. St Petersburg, founded in 1703 by Peter the Great. Inspired by Paris there are many Palaces, art galleries, cathedrals, theatres and churches to explore. The boat will be moored in Kronstadt a little way out of the city, as we are vertically challenged. Clearances will be happening during the day on the 22nd July leaving the 23rd and 24th to explore. The charter will finish on the 24th but of course there will be the option of taking a hotel for a few days before heading home if you would like to explore further. Leg 2: 25th July – 18th August 2022 (680nm) Russia, Finland, Sweden & Denmark Joining the boat on the 26th July in Kronstadt there are a couple of days to enjoy the delights of St Petersburg before setting sail on the 28th July. You may decide to fly out earlier to have more time to explore St Petersburg before joining the boat. Our first port of call will be Haapasaari Island before arriving into the oldest yacht club in Finland, in Helsinki. There are two days to explore here before making our way to Mariehamn, a small Swedish town. En route we will explore the Åland Islands which are part of Finland. From Mariehamn it is a short hop to Stockholm, which is surrounded by beautiful islands. There will then be the chance to enjoy the lovely scenery of the Swedish archipelago, and maybe take a swim in the clear waters before finishing the rally in Kalmar. Here there will be an organised tour to the Renaissance castle and a final dinner. Although the rally finishes here we will finish our charter in Copenhagen, so you will have the chance to explore here before heading home. £5000 per person per leg plus crew fees or £9000 for full rally plus crew fees.
