Peter Adams wants 2 crew for Flying Fish, Robertson & Caine Leopard, m.

From Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

November 2024 to .

This is an opportunity to join my wife and me on SV Flying Fish on passage from the Canary Islands to St. Lucia. Our passage will be with the trans-Atlantic ARC’24 rally to the Caribbean. We are on a very seaworthy 2011 Leopard 44 catamaran with four cabins and private heads that we have been sailing as live-aboards in the Med for the past two years. We have all new standing and running rigging as well as a new set of sails including genoa, main and Parasailor. TIMESCALE. This timescale allows for weather anomalies and shakedown cruising. All timescales are subject to weather conditions. The ARC office opens in Las Palmas on November 11th and we have a marina slip reserved between November 11 and our departure on November 24. Crew should plan to arrive in Las Palmas after November 11th and no later than one week prior to departure. SMOKING. No smoking or vaping onboard whatsoever. ALCOHOL. No alcohol consumed throughout the sailing and only at the skipper's discretion at the Canary Islands. GEAR. Bring your own necessary sailing gear, lifejacket with harness (or borrow one of ours), and offshore PLB with AIS and Olas overboard alert. Flying Fish has a brand new ISO six person offshore liferaft with flares and grab bag. Crew will also provide their own foul weather clothing. FOOD. There may be a mixed diet onboard and we will shop together to make sure everyone’s dietary needs are met. Crew will be expected to take turns to cook and share all washing up and cleaning duties. Breakfast will be self serve. SHAKEDOWN CRUISE. We have separate opportunities posted on this site for the shakedown cruise from Gibraltar to Madeira and from Madeira to Canary Islands in October.. At least one day sail afloat in advance of departure is mandatory. Plus the skipper will require an online WhatsApp video call as a way of meeting in advance of departure. Please share your detailed questions at least 24hours in advance of your WhatsApp meeting via [email protected] POINT OF CONTACT. Please share shore based contact with an email/address/phone number for next of kin or (as appropriate) a person to contact in an emergency.
