[ Cancelled ] ARC 2020 Greece to Gibraltar ref 12140

Trevor Giles wants 3 crew for Kiwi, Nautitech Open 40, m.

From Gouvia Marina, Corfu, Greece to Gibraltar, Gibraltar.

January 2020 to January 2021.

We have two opportunities available for Kiwi later this year starting October 12th 2020 Firstly we will be delivering her from Corfu to Gibraltar and I need three crew members for this trip Separate cabins available as either single or one double room for a couple. This is a trip that will either be direct from Corfu to Gibraltar over a 9 or 10 day period for the 1,300 nautical mile trip or if we get caught by high wind or sea conditions we may choose to either stop as Corsica or Sardegna. If that's the case then we will take another 4 days or so to make the trip, Either way, the latest I want to be in Gibraltar is the 1st November to provision the boat and look for a weather window to the Canaries in time for the start of the ARC 2020 Registration and scrutineering for that start on the 9th November after the ARC plus boats have left the marina. So the second opportunity which I have also listed separately is the ARC 2020 itself The trip from Gibraltar to the Canaries ensures there are multiple crew members on board that has travelled 500 nautical miles or more. This is a requirement and a great opportunity for training for the ARC Atlantic Crossing which leaves on the 22nd November. I have allowed 20 days for this crossing but will not know until the wind Gods have delivered their best. This offshore trip will suit 1 or 2 crew, wanting to build a few miles on their resume or tick off the item from a bucket list. We already have three experienced crew on board for this trip, two of which have sailed their own catamaran around the Mediterranean for 8 years or so and 6 months of the year at a time plus me the skipper who has 7 seasons sailing in the region as well. The Skipper will be paying for all onboard expenses including food, port fees and entry fees to the Rally but all costs associated with getting too and from the ports to home or other destinations are your responsibility A separate cabin will be provided for two singles or one double cabin for a couple. All visas and inoculations for the ports we will visit must be in place before I accept your application.

Crew roles: The Crew for the delivery trip from Gibraltar need to have had proven sea miles and familiar with sailboats. We will spend a day or so at Corfu provisioning the boat and going over her features so you are familiar with the boat before departing but some skill level will be required Each crew member will be expected to stand watch at night on their own and monitor traffic and maintain course either sailing manually or in conjunction with the autopilot. If you think you have sufficient skills or can provide specific skills but maybe need training in other areas then send me your resume as the skill level of other applicants may fill the gaps and together we may be able to work together. On arrival in Gibraltar crew will depart before the 1st November when the ARC Crew are due to arrive If you are keen on the ARC journey as well as the delivery trip I will look at your application for both trips Book early and get confirmation

Money: captain pays all expenses

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
