[ closed ] ARC 2019 Canary Islands to Saint Lucia ref 11861

Berry Zondag wants 2 crew for Mareas, Lagoon450F, 14m.

From Las Palmas, Canary Islands to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

November 2019 to December 2019.

Taking part in the ARC 2019 aboard a Lagoon 450F. Our current crew of three are looking for an experienced extra crew member or possibly a couple. We are a retired couple and have been joined for this summer season and the ARC by our daughter. We have now sailed the Med together, including some large crossings, but we want to take on some extra help to make the Atlantic trip more relaxed for all. That is why we expect our additional crew to have enough offshore experience to run watches and operate the boat. We also expect crew to have their own gear as required by the ARC rules, or share in the costs for extra purchases. The trip costs for our crew will be the ARC crew fees and an equal share of all provisions for the trip (we estimate the latter at EU500). Crew will have their own cabin and bathroom on board of our owners version 450.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: None

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: non-smokers only

Total people on board: 4-5

Crew roles: We are looking for one person or a couple. Experience in offshore sailing on a larger yacht is a must. This is our first ocean crossing, so ocean experience would be an advantage. We mostly speak English on board, so crew would need to be able to communicate effectively in English, although Dutch would also suffice. We like cooking and fishing and sharing culinary endeavors, so our environment is not suitable for vegans or people with dietary particularities.

Money: expenses shared equally $500

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
