[ Cancelled ] ARC 2017 Canary Islands to Saint Lucia ref 8567

James Craig wants 5 crew for Mr Percival, Gulfstar 68', 20.7m.

From Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Canary Islands to Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia.

October 2017 to December 2017.

We (my wife and 2 kids) am currently sailing around the world, having left Melbourne Australia. We are currently in the Med for a couple of months, and then keen to get the yacht over to the Caribbean at the end of the year. My kids will fly back to Australia in October, and my wife will stay in Europe a little longer, and fly over to St Lucia once I have sailed there. The yacht - "Mr Percival" is ideally suited for ocean crossing, and i am looking for people who are keen to spend around 3 weeks at sea, in a variety of sailing conditions, and prepared to contribute to all roles on board. I am happy to teach all crew the various systems and techniques required to cross an ocean.

Each crew will be on watch preferably on their own for 2-3 hrs per rotation (but everyone is usually in the cockpit during the daylight anyway). I will have provisions and meal plans all prepared, cooking will be pretty basic (given ocean conditions and only so much room in the freezer and fridge etc). We have lots of novels and books on board, bring some music, relax and enjoy the ride, plus whats on offer through the ARC community.

Money: expenses shared equally

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
