Spartan Ocean Racing & Training wants 1 crew for Challenger, Whitbread/Volvo 60, 18m.
From Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua & Barbuda to St. Georges, Bermuda.
April 2019 to .
The Antigua- Bermuda race ran for the first time in 2017 and was a massive success. The course up from Antigua was hugely enjoyable to sail mixing in light air spinnaker reaches with challenging upwind sections that required careful attention to wind shifts. The race gave skilled sailors a chance to develop their helming and trimming skills whilst simultaneously providing developing sailors with a valuable chance to develop their offshore sea-legs. Here at Spartan we heavily favour getting all our crew fully involved in every aspect of the sailing and when the skipper is a racing circumnavigator that means there are skills to be learnt from basic deck skills up to advanced helming with masthead spinnaker. You can take as much or as little as you want. Departing from Antigua the race course takes us 935Nm North- Bermuda lies on the other side of a number of complicated weather and current systems that make each day different and interesting. This year we found that the competition was very close and for the majority of the race we were in sight of the other boats day and night creating close, tactical racing which the crew hugely enjoyed
