From Latchi, Cyprus to Latchi, Cyprus.

Sail Away With Us The turn: From around mid to late September until mid-November 2021 we intend to sail from Cyprus to some of the Greek islands and possibly Turkey. We don’t have exact plans and prefer to go where the wind and our wishes in the moment take us. However, we will avoid Marinas and crowded places and prefer nature and anchoring wherever possible. We might also extend this trip to an Atlantic crossing to the Caribbean in the winter time. So if anyone might be interested in this, please get in touch too... The Vision: To enjoy and celebrate life on the ocean and ashore in respectful, sustainable, ethical and caring ways. To connect with and learn from nature, people and different cultures on the way. The Crew: Tina: Passionate about the little things and mindful of the bigger picture; fascinated about healing with the help of nature and growing by integrating all aspects of life. Inspired by Buddhist philosophy and loves brain-twisting thinking with a good laugh about myself. Can be happy-as when I smell a flowers' scent or listen to a birdies' song. People say I’m easy going, perhaps because I’m accepting the odds when I curiously inquire. Lars: Lars is a keen explorer of life and love. I deeply value openness and learning from life. I used to be a Professor for Media and Communication and now I am a freeish being  I am currently working on several projects, one of them is The Love Project. A Documentary Journey into the Heart of Love (www.TheLoveProject.xyz). In addition, I love playing poi, making music, diving, dancing, playfulness, nature, the simple life, philosophy, critical thought, connecting and exchanging with people, writing, learning, and envisioning more connected, respectful, sustainable, caring, loving and ethical ways of living and being beyond the current destructive, alienated and exploitative status quo. The Boat: Meet Hoppipolla, which in Icelandic means “Jumping into Puddles”. Hoppipolla is a 36.5 foot catamaran made by Dean in South Africa in the early 1990s. She is a spacious, strong and capable offshore boat and equipped with all the necessary safety and navigation gear. Fully self-sufficient, she can be sailing in remote areas for months. We have given her an extensive refit during 2018, 2019 and 2020 to make her ready for extended cruising, away from marinas. We also carry a dive compressor and dive gear, so there will be an opportunity to go diving together. She is not flashy or pretentious, but homey and cozy. She is not a factory boat, but a boat with character. Most importantly, she has become our sweet home  About You: We are looking for one or two lovely people to join us on our trip. At least one of you should have extended sailing experience (preferably with a catamaran) to help us to learn how to sail Hoppipolla well. This will be our first longer cruise with her, and we want to learn from you. So you should be capable and willing to take on the role of skipper for at least parts of the trip. You must be willing to share the responsibilities and joys of sailing as well as open and eager to learn. Shared responsibilities include, depending on ability, cooking, dishes, boat maintenance and cleaning, night watch on passages, etc. It would be great if you shared at least some of our values and interests, which include: Open-mindedness, honesty, honest and open communication, philosophy, love, alternative health and wellbeing modalities, psychology, sustainability, post-capitalist worlds, historical materialism, yoga, tantra, meditation, spirituality, healthy and organic food, critical inquiry and reflection, poi, diving, explorations of inner and outer worlds, being joyful and playful, making music, meaningful conversations, the simple life, kite surfing, etc. The kitchen is vegetarian/vegan. However, if you wish to fish once in a while and prepare what you catch, that will be fine. You don’t need to commit to the entire two months, but at least to the first three weeks of our sailing trip beginning in mid-September. Costs: We propose hared costs for food, diesel, moorings, etc. Details to be negotiated. [email protected]
