[ active ] Aleutian Islands, Alaska sailing expedition United States to United States ref 15800

Todd Thompson wants 2 crew for Elcano, Shannon custom cutter, m.

From Bellingham, Washington, United States to bellingham, Washingtong, United States.

June 2026 to August 2026.

Sail from Bellingham, Washington USA to the Aleutian Islands of Alaska and back summer 2026. The offshore passage from Bellingham across the Gulf of Alaska to Dutch Harbor is about 1500nm. From Dutch we will work our way 500nm west to Tanaga Island near Adak, mostly on the north or Bering Sea side of the islands, anchoring at night then back mostly on the south or north Pacific side of the islands. The Aleutian Islands are stunning in scale, remote and rarely visited. They are one of the best remaining wilderness cruising grounds in the world. Since they are far from any emergency assistance and can have challenging weather at any time, the boat must be suitable for high latitude conditions and the crew must be experienced and self sufficient. Detailed trip description, boat details, crew expectations, captains profile and provisioning plan are available for interested potential crew.
