From Hamble, United Kingdom to Hamble, United Kingdom.
November 2016 to July 2019.
MAD MONKEY ~ 2 Year Circumnavigation Grand Soleil 56 (56’ / 16.8m) 2007, bought to make a circumnavigation! Sleeps 8 in comfort and fully fitted with all safety equipment, air-con, heating, generator, hydro-generator, water-maker, latest Ray Marine Electronics, Satellite phone, SSB, long range WIFI, electric winches, full sail inventory etc.. etc.. Fast, dry and a real pleasure to sail July 2017 is the start of our 2 year circumnavigation, the start of my life time dream ~ July to Nov = Mediterranean island sailing, Nov 2017 = ARC, Jan 2018 = WARC with World Cruising Club ~ July 2019 = Finish in UK Early 2017 sailing is for final boat set-up, testing of all equipment and crew search / familiarisation. We will sail weekends, bank holidays and a few 1 week legs. From July 2017 we will start from the Hamble en-route to various Mediterranean anchorages, stopping wherever we wish, then mid Oct en-route to Las Palmas to join the ARC, finishing in St Lucia where we join the WARC starting Jan 2018. The ARC consists of ~ 200+ yachts starting together, whilst the WARC consists of ~ 30-40 yachts from all nationalities visiting ~ 30 countries en-route. We are looking for crew to join us for 1 leg, multiple legs or the complete 2 year campaign. All sailing levels are welcome as training can be supplied. The Owner / Skipper Mark has 25+ years of sailing / racing experience and we plan to sail always with 4 to 6 crew, all with smiles & of a fun nature The more you participate the more we’ll have fun!! We are not a charter yacht so we do not charge, we simply ask for an equal contribution for daily provisions, these averaging to ~ £15 per day.
