I am looking for one or two people to join me on trip that will involve a lot of hard work followed by a leisurely cruise to the Bahamas and possibly the West Indies. My boat is an Island Packet 380, which has been languishing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the duration of the Covid problems. The dock owner was supposed to be keeping an eye on her, but I’ve just learned that her bilge pump failed and she took on a lot of water. I’m not sure what quite to expect, but it will certainly be a bloody mess. The plan is therefore to go out, stay in a “ crew hut” till she’s habitable, take her to a yard, haul out, anti foul, change zinc anodes etc and then settle down for a nice cruise! Enjoy the sun, sea, beaches, a bit of snorkelling & diving - we have some diving gear on board, maybe do a bit of treasure hunting and I’m open to suggestions as to where precisely we go and for how long, I’m available for around 3 months. I’ve done a fair bit of sailing, getting a bit long in the tooth now, but enjoy all the good things in life. I’m therefore looking for a person(s) who is good company, capable, practical and above all with a positive manner.
