[ closed ] Sailing Indonesia to Thailand Indonesia to Thailand ref 12354

Lorenzo Bluwindsail wants 2 crew for Chiribita, Beneteau First 405, 12m.

From Jayapura, Indonesia to Phuket, Thailand.

January 2020 to January 2020.

Hi at all, I appeal to all the people who sail like us and who, once the problem of Covid19 has returned ( actually we are still locked in Italy), will be available to reach us onboard anyway. Our trip, will start from Jayapura in the direction of Biak – Sorong. Before to leave we have to fix our engine, we are on work in progress to repair it. We will have to study the route very well, to tack many times, depending on the wind and sea conditions that we will find along the navigation. This could take much longer to reach the destination in Biak only by sailing. The meteorology of Papua is very complex and from our experience we have understood that our departure from Jayapura must take place within the month of August, in order to be able to take advantage of the current in good certainty, considering that the Papua wind (SE Aliseo ) is always very unstable and indeterminable (from 20 knots to 0 Kn). I note that sailing trip from Jayapura to Sorong also represents an interesting experience, which I hope will be positive. There are in fact several nice landing places we know, which we would like to stay overnight (or to wait for right wind) during our navigation trip. Once in Sorong, we would like to discover Rajampat which, due to its beauty, is unique in the world.

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 1): Watch-leader

What roles/experience are needed (Crew 2): does not matter

Sailing with a Rally: None

I'm looking for (gender): either

Cabins/Sleeping : own cabin-own bunk

Smoking on board: smoking allowed

Total people on board: 4

Crew roles: After Sorong, we will have to determine whether and how to continue towards Thailand. We will only be able to evaluate this second phase and after we have finally detached the moorings from Jayapura. Returning to our request, we are looking for two motivated crew people, who want to cooperate and help us for what I have described. First of all, we need a support to put the boat ready in a seaworthy condition (cleaning, small repairs, control of navigation instruments, on-board energy, etc. to face safely and pleasantly the navigation we have to carry out.

Money: expenses shared equally

Travel to and from boat: crew pays
