Description

Western Way was built for the television host Gary Moore in 1961. Mr. Moore's estate donated her to Maine Maritime Academy where she underwent a major refit. All new mechanical systems, engine and generator, refrigeration, electrical and electronics, sails, etc. Western Way is wood framed and sheathed top to bottom in plywood. This is how she was originally constructed and was refit in the same manner. The vessel is well equipped and ready for long term cruising.
