At the start of 2019 we inherited the Volvo 70 Telefonica Black. She needed a full refurb to get her up and running and has been a labour of love! Bringing her back to her former glory is our ambition and by booking on to sail her you are helping us with our mission as everything we earn goes back into the boat. We are trying to recycle, repurpose, swap with other Volvo 70s and maintain as much as we can. However there are certain things – especially all the safety equipment – we have had to buy new. We are proud that we have got her to Category 0 status and we are constantly trying to improve the boat as well as give people memorable experiences on her. This is not a cruise - it's a true taste of life onboard an ocean racing yacht. Conditions exactly like they were in the 2008 Volvo Ocean race, they are cramped, the 'galley' is a kettle and the heads are definitely an experience... especially when you are pitched over up wind. But you'll be a key member of our team and get involved in every aspect of the experience. Our professional crew will be on hand 24/7 to guide you and push you to the edge of your comfort zone. You'll build confidence (and lots of miles for your log book), learn new skills and achieve things you never thought would be possible. You get to be involved in every aspect of sailing this machine and we can guarantee you wont just be sitting on the rail.
