Description

I started sailing at the age of 6 on Lake Geneva (Switzerland), and have since sailed on many different boats leisurely and professionally. In 2010 I reoriented my career from IT to yachting. I am a calm, open-minded problem-solver who easily gets along with people in 3 languages. I am highly responsible, reliable, flexible, and always eager to learn new things. I am mechanically handy, very technology-savvy and skilled in IT and electronics. I am looking for capable crew who can stand solo night watches, so some sailing experience is necessary. As we live in close quarters, tidiness is another important trait to have. Other skills like cooking, fishing, diving, photography etc. are also welcome. This is an easy-going trip with not much fuss. So bring your smile, fun, and itchy feet! A total of 2 to 4 people onboard. The yacht is a 1994 Oyster 55 Sovereign. She is a safe and sturdy bluewater sailboat with most of the creature comforts: generator, watermaker, A/C, heating, etc. capable of crossing oceans. The refit in 2015 included replacement of all new electronic instruments, mast paint job. 2018 refit: new teak deck, interior varnishing, engine & generator overhaul, new watermaker and batteries, antifoul and general maintenance in preparation for the Indian Ocean crossing. 2021 refit: new standing rigging, all deck hatches changed, new antifoul. There are 3 cabins: 2 doubles fore and aft, and 2 bunkbeds in the 3rd cabin midship. 2 heads. Gas cooking with huge fridge and freezer. The crew I\'m looking for will be able to stand solo watches at night, so some sailing experience and knowledge is necessary. I am also a sailing instructor, so don\'t be too worried. Fast learners have an advantage. As we live in close quarters, tidiness and respect of others are important traits to have. Other skills like cooking, fishing, diving, photography etc. are also welcome. Most importantly, I\'m looking for fun, young and compatible people who enjoy being at sea and explore the world.
