DescriptionSwn y Mor was launched in La Rochelle in October 2020 and we took delivery in July 2021 - she is currently based in La Rochelle France. She is a well equipped cutter designed for comfortable short handed blue water cruising and CE rated as Class A for up to 8 persons. Displacement is ~20tonnes, solidly built for comfort and safety but no slouch. She is easily managed by 2 with electrically powered winches for main, genoa and staysail - electrically powered in mast furling for the main and electrically furled genoa and staysail. We also carry a Code 0, gennaker and a Blue Water Runner/Tradewind sail all on an electric or manual free flying furler. She has a 110Hp Volvo engine, an electric bow thruster and windlass, an Onan generator and a solar array on the davits. We decided to be flammables free as far as possible so we have a large lithium battery bank which allows us to run the watermaker, induction oven, washing machine and air conditioning as well as the winches and nav equipment. We also have an electric outboard for the inflatable so carry no gas or petrol. She is centre cockpit with a large hardtop sheltering the whole cockpit from wind and sun. Accommodation is a double forward cabin with jack/jill doors - electric heads and shower, small 2 bunk cabin, possibility to sleep further 3 or 2 with lee cloths in saloon and owners cabin and heads aft. Full navigation and comms fit with Furuno and B&G displays, duplicated/redundant electronic charts/plotters, radar, AIS, dual redundant autopilots, VHF and SSB. Viking 8 man raft, AIS MOB1 for all crew and EPIRBs for boat and raft in addition to all the ARC/World Sailing safety requirements. |
