Description

I have been sailing this Bristol 24 since i launched in Portsmouth NH July 15th. Crossed from Portland Me to the Azores and have been 6 wks touring the fantastic islands of the Azores (ten days with a female friend from Boston area whose reference is available). Am currently in Muelle del Taliarte just south of las Palmas Gran Canaria. Plan to head for the Cape Verde islands before crossing back to (probably) the north coast of South America and then up the Caribbean island chain....Meeting in the Canaries mid nov. is good. I sailed solo from the US. to the azores to prove the boat and the captain. That more or less accomplished, i am wearying of solo sailing. I came out to have fun and for a change from land life and to learn to live "on the water". I would like to find a helper to join me, also for the fun of it. This is a simple, sturdy boat, not the high tech sailing experience, but the principals are the same. Close to the water, which it seems is the goal. I can teach a beginner or take an experienced hand. We'll sail in between , enjoy the beaches, swim, practice yoga, dance to the music, look for and eat good local food and beverages. No real schedule, going as the wind pushes us. With video chat we can get a pretty good idea if we might be compatible enough to sail together. Glad to communicate and answer any questions you might have The pictures are of me in front of the wall of fame in Horta where all the boats paint there artwork and (2) of Sea Change anchored off cape cod canal. Update Oct 14. Arrived Calheta, Madeira last week and after a couple days there and then 2 in Funchal have found a spot here in Machico, tied to a tuna boat (an honor, see photo no.3) to wait while the storms over the north atlantic swirl. Glad i made it from the Azores!!! Machico is a lovely place with a great beach and nice small town atmosphere.....Looks like wind forecasted to change by the end of this week when i will head for Lanzarote in the Canaries, eventually to Las Palmas Update Dec 16 Took a young japanese woman on as crew mate in las palmas and we are here in Mindelo, Sao Vincente, Cape Verde. Some rough weather out there now but forecast to calm abit and so we are overhauling the boat and provisioning for the 2000mi crossing to Trinidad on friday, where she will look for a boat headed across t.he pacific and i will head north island hopping in the caribbean. Would like to have sailing help and companionship for the winter cruising...meet me there? Stv
