Description

Raison dEtre is a cutter-rigged ketch. In the trades, given a reach, she will fly four sails (Genoa, staysail, main, mizzen). She is sweetness to sail, the best balanced boat I have sailed. When over 30 knots true, we do not bother to reef the main, we just drop it with the Genoa, and sail “jib & jigger” (staysail and mizzen) ... perfectly balanced. We have sail jib & jigger into 50 knots ... just getting use to the noise. She holds 725 liters of water with 400 liters of fuel. Additions to boat, since the 2012 purchase, include: a Wallas diesel cabin heater; mizzen traveler; new Genoa, main & mizzen sails (2014); self-polishing fuel system (2018); forward looking sonar (2018); engine overhauled (2014 & 2019); new anchor windless and chain (2017); new standing rigging (2012); teak deck serviced (2020); new rudder bearings (2020); new cutlass bearing (2020); new prop (2018); new water heater (2017); etc.; etc.
