Additional detailsCrew Wanted – ARC Plus. Experienced Owner Seeking Like-Minded Sailors My name is Olaf Sorensen, originally from Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. I am a semi-retired civil engineer and a lifelong sailor with extensive offshore and racing experience. For most of my sailing life, I competed in dinghies and one-design keel-boats, particularly Flying Fifteens and International Dragons. I have been fortunate to win both the French and Italian International Dragon Nationals, in fleets of over 80 boats. My offshore experience includes: 3 - Atlantic crossings 3 - Round Ireland Races A double-handed Fastnet Race in the Figaro class In 2011, I stepped away from one-design racing, and in 2020 I purchased a Beneteau 57, which has since been fully upgraded and brought up to a very high specification. I hold an RYA Yachtmaster qualification, along with all relevant STCW certificates. The Crew I’m Looking For At this stage of life, with my family grown up, I have both the time and the skills to undertake a major sailing adventure. I am now looking for four like-minded crew members, along with a professional cook, to join me. The right people will be: Competent sailors with a solid practical understanding of how a boat works Willing to participate fully in all onboard tasks Good-humored, easy-going, and not overly serious about life Patient and emotionally steady — able to live in close quarters for long periods The type who won’t lose the plot when conditions get challenging Above all, I want a crew who are capable, cooperative, and enjoyable to share the journey with. I will pay for all expenses, diesel, mooring fees etc. Crew are expected to contribute to food and cover their own travelling expenses.
