Description

Launched June 2009; major refits 2015 (NEW ZEALAND); 2018 & 2019 (NEW CALEDONIA). AMEL 54 is a very safe & comfortable boat specifically designed for blue water sailing by a small crew of any age. Under normal conditions (tradewinds etc.) there is very little to be done once she is on course and the sails are set; virtually everything is (electrically) controlled from the center cockpit.

Additional details

Well equipped with multiple navigation; solar; satellite etc. In reality: open water sailing itself is very easy (almost boring) as long as you keep monitoring the weather, navigation, the boat (instruments), surroundings etc. The interesting & challenging part is charting, plotting, arrival & departure, mooring/anchoring etc.
