| I am skipper and owner of a Southerly 38 sailing yacht based in Sovereign Harbour, Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK. I have owned "Poli Poli" from new ( 2010 ) and to date have sailed nearly 8,000 n.miles. Last year we accomplished a 2,800 n.miles complete circumnavigation of the British Isles... sailing for 142 days and visiting 64 harbours. See our blog... Google search polipoli.blog and you will get some idea of what we did. Prior to this have sailed most of the French Channel coast, Belgium, Holland, the Scilly Isles and North Sea. My total sailing experience is approximately 12,000 n. miles. Am of "mature" age having retired from 40 years of teaching. After last summer's experience of cold, wet conditions in northern Scotland, determined now to head south for t-shirt and shorts type sailing... to go where the butter melts as they say. So ARCPortugal it is... leaving Eastbourne on May 20th for Plymouth, then on 2nd June depart across the Bay of Biscay for Spain and Portugal. | |
