I am a fit retired engineer with a passion for sailing. I have owned 3 keel yachts over the last 15 years and currently have a 50 foot cruiser racer, Kerumba based in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. We race and cruise Kerumba mostly in Queensland waters and completed our second extended cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu June July this year. In 2013 we competed in the Sydney to Hobart race and finished 19th over the line and 6th on IRC overall. A very pleasing result and not keen to do another one and ruin our average. I am just finalizing purchase of an Outremer 45+ Catamaran, which is based in La Grande Motte, near Montpellier France. My plan is to sail/ cruise in the Med during European summer over the next two years and see what comes. I may contemplate the Atlantic, Panama and cruise Pacific heading for Australia over following years, but first the Med. I enjoy sharing the experience with my friends and the plan will be two/three week cruises with friends coming and going over Summer. This will commence in May 2019 for 2.5 months initially. I am seeking a crew to join me in running the boat for the period. Whilst friends will come and go, some will have sailing experience, others none and there maybe periods without friends. I am yet to develop a cruising plan but will head East. | |
