I'm a 56 year old Louisiana boy. That's my culture if you will so yes...love the blues and make a mean gumbo. But I'm also a Military Brat (dad was Air Force) so I grew up on the bounce and lived in Germany for 3 years will a kid. Currently I live in Venice Beach CA where I work as a special effects/ pyrotechnician for the Entertainment industry. It's a physical job so that helps keep me tuned up to some degree. Living in Venice means I'm right beside Marina Del Rey. I remember seeing all those sailboats and being determined to find my way on to one. Well I started out racing and later joined a local "paper" yacht club/ coop that had a fleet of boats for a nominal price. So I'm blessed that I get to cruise and sail locally on those while I hunt for my own boat. I also volunteer on a couple of brigantines and a schooner that are near by. I've done a few deliveries up and down the California Coast and delivered a catamaran from Exhuma to St. Thomas. A Beneteau Sense from Dayton Fl up to Anapolis MD. primarily on the ICW. A 1958 12 Meter "Easterner" from Anapolis to New York city. A Tayana 58 from upstate New York to Houston TX. I have my ASA 101, 103, 104, 105 and 114. I have a 16 year old son so for now that limits me to some degree. I can't disappear for half a year but he's home schooling and my Mom is always wanting him to come there allowing me to bag some off shore time. | |
